Zeke Estep has
been studying people and drawing what he sees since
the sunny days of Bert and Ernie. As a student Zeke
excelled in art classes. Curious to learn more he enrolled
in drawing classes at Meremac College. It was figurative
drawing and several other drawing classes with Arther
Grunmann that strongly influenced Zeke. Arther Grunmann
taught Zeke to shout out with his paintings and Zeke's
work continued to grow with each new breakthrough until
his life was changed forever.
It was during a tumultuous time
in his life that Zeke had a premonition of something
bad about to happen. Around two o'clock on July 3rd,
1995, Zeke was in a head on collision on Highway 54.
After a tense twenty hours, where Zeke's life was in
question, he was given a second chance. Zekial had lost
the ability to draw with his right hand but with sheer
determination and a passion to create Zeke relearned
how to draw with his left hand. With a new vision of
his mad existence. Zeke seeks to express how beautiful
people are.
Zeke has recently passed, and
will be missed greatly. His artwork is still available
as prints only. All proceeds from the sale of Zekes
prints go his son.
